All ITV channels are Free to Air  -  you don't need a Sky viewing card to watch.

ITV 1 is on EPG 103 (Electronic Program Guide) and should be your local ITV if you have a Sky viewing card. ITV1 London is also transmitted on EPG 993  to the whole of the UK (apart from London where its on 103). This carries audio description though you do have to turn it on in the menus.

ITV2   is on EPG 118. Essentially this is intended to be a "younger audience" station aimed at under 40s.

ITV3  is on EPG 119. ITV launched this channel to compliment ITV1 and ITV2. It will show mostly repeats of old ITV dramas and movies. ITV3 was launched on Freeview, most cable networks and Sky Digital on 1st. November 2004. In order to launch the new station on the overcrowded EPG  Granada Plus has ceased transmission.

ITV4 is on EPG 120. Programmes started on 7th. November 2005. The line-up includes sport, cop shows and US sitcoms. The channel is intended to appeal to a more male audience than ITV2 and a younger audience than ITV3.  ITV4 is now on the air most of the day and evening though not quite 24 hours a day. On air from around 9:00AM till 4:00AM the following day the rest of the time it carrys ITV Night Screen and Tele shopping.

CITV carries day time programmes for younger viewers.

Men & Motors is part of the ITV presence on Sky and is also free to air. EPG is 131 till March 17th 2008 then 184.

There are also ITV2+1 and ITV3+1 services.

ITV2+1 is swapping places with Men & Motors on March 17th 2008. Currently they are on 184 and 131.

If you do not have a Sky viewing card contact Sky and for a small one off fee they will give you a card for the encrypted but free to view stations on Sky. These include Channel 4 and Five.

BBC1 & ITV1 regional variations are free to air on Sky

 see below.

Channel 4 and five on Sky requires at least a free viewing card to receive the channels. BBC ONE & BBC TWO along with all ITV channels are completely free to air on Sky. You receive your local BBC ONE & ITV1 based on your post code and the Sky conditional access system but if you do not have a Sky card you will get BBC1 London on EPG 101 and ITV London on EPG 103.

The BBC, ITV and Sky have reached an agreement that will see your local BBC One and BBC Two remain on EPG positions 101 and 102 respectively. Other BBC regions are available in an extended BBC regional section of the EPG in the 971 to 988 range. The additional regions have been available on the EPG since July 29th 2003. ITV1 channels have to be viewed through the Add Programms menu as detailed at the top of this page.

The eight BBC channels went Free To Air from 10th July 2003.

As part of this change all BBC stations have moved to the Astra 2D satellite. Viewers in the UK should not notice any difference and will not need to retune their receiver. However this will make reception more difficult and in some cases impossible without  a very large dish outside the UK as 2D has a more focused transmission beam.

Conditional access puts your local BBC TWO on EPG 102 but don't forget you can watch BBC TWO for other areas on EPG 989 990 991 and 992. There are only four BBC TWO stations. These are BBC TWO (the main station for England) on 989, BBC TWO Scotland on 990, BBC 2W (BBC TWO for Wales) on 991 and BBC TWO Northern Ireland on 992.

The BBC regional services are free to air. Try this link to the BBC reception advice pages. If you have a problem with BBC 1 stations how to tune is listed below.    http://www.bbc.co.uk/reception

Warning! It is possible to really screw up a couple of things from this menu so don't mess with it unless you are confident you know what you are doing.

To access the installer menu press the 'Services' button on your sky remote control. Select 'System Setup' from the menu. Here comes the clever bit ... now press 0 (zero) followed by 1 and then the 'Select' button.
